Spoiler Ending (Spoiler Alert)
The narrative is straightforward. It begins with a doll maker named Sam Mullins and his wife, Esther. They had a beloved daughter named Annabelle, for whom Sam crafted a special doll. Annabelle cherished this doll; they were inseparable. Tragically, after Annabelle’s death, the bereaved parents sought to contact her spirit, but instead, they inadvertently invited an evil presence into their home. This malevolent spirit latched onto the doll, bringing terror to the family. In an attempt to contain it, Esther lost an eye, and peace returned for 12 years.
The film picks up a dozen years later when Sam and Esther welcome several orphan girls into their home. One girl stumbles upon the concealed doll in Annabelle’s room, unleashing the evil once more. The spirit wreaks havoc, eventually possessing a disabled orphan named Janice, who causes extensive harm.
In the climax, the spirit is re-contained, with the doll and Janice secured in the hidden room. However, Janice escapes. Later, we learn she has returned to the orphanage and is adopted by a family, taking on the name Annabelle.
The original Annabelle movie unfolds 12 years later. Annabelle, now a young woman, has joined a demonic cult and found a boyfriend. The story shifts focus to Mia, a doll collector and neighbor, who acquires the cursed doll. This act triggers a series of hauntings, culminating in a dramatic confrontation.
