Dead Mine Review (2012)

Dead Mine started out very strong but falls flat very quickly.

The Story

The story is about a group of explorers who are seeking the legendary Yamashita’s Gold in the abandoned mine deep inside Indonesian jungle.  Soon they find themselves trapped inside the mine, and stumbled into dark secret of the mine.

The Review (Spoiler Alert)

Dead Mine starts out very well.  Once the explorers get trapped inside the mine and the movie slowly reveals the deadly secret of the mine, it definitely got my attention.  But soon as we figure out what is going on inside the mine, it just falls flat.  The movie quickly turns into cheesy B-horror movie.  Basically there is nothing original about the movie. It is a bad rip-off of The DescentThe movie struggles to be series, but it is very difficult to take the movie seriously.  Also the dialogs are extremely poor and there are lots of holes in the story.

As for the acting, each actor does their best to play the characters but because of the bad production and story of the movie, it is very difficult to take them seriously.

The ending is also very disappointing.  The movie ends in a cliff hanger as if there is going to be sequel.  But I am not even sure if they are going to make sequel.

In the Nutshell

Dead Mine starts out very strong but quickly turns into cheesy B-horror movie that no one cares to watch. I give 2 out of 5 stars.
