Girl House Review (2014)

Girl House is surprisingly well produce B-horror slasher.

The Story

A young college student desperate for tuition money moves into a house that streams live videos to an X-rated website. After a deranged fan determines the house’s location, she finds herself in a terrifying fight for her life.

The Review

Girl House looks like typical cheesy B-horror slasher that we’ve been many times before.  But I was surprised to find, it is well produced slasher with good acting and solid script.  It does have little bit of nudity and sexy scenes but the most of the movie is suspense thriller with lots of gore and violence.

The villain in the movie is not really original but the character is solid.  We get little bit of back story of the villain, so we know his motive.  He has a normal job and is good with computer.  Basically, he is not over-the-top serial killer you see in some of the horror movies.  The mask that he wears is pretty intimating and he runs like a mad man when he is chasing a girl which makes the movie even more suspenseful.

Typically, down fall of the B-horror slasher is the acting.  But the acting from all girls are surprisingly good considering that they are all very attractive girls.  At the same time, the dialogs are pretty solid.

The pacing of the movie is good.  There aren’t any dull moments.  They spend just enough time setting up the main character without dragging too much.  They even put little bit of romance side story.  Most of the movie is the villain chasing and murdering these girls.
