The Review (Spoiler Free)
I have to confess, murder mystery film doesn’t really excites me. But I did enjoyed the film immensely.
Murder Made Easy had its World Premiere at the 2017 Women in Horror Film Festival where it won the Indie Spirit Award. It really is a throwback Agatha Christie style of murder mystery. The movie is witty and smart, and it has surprise ending that is very satisfying.
Murder Made Easy is independent film. What is so different about the movie is that the movie has look-and-feel of a play. But it doesn’t look cheap and cheesy. In fact, it has many clever and difficult cinemagraphs. For example, in the beginning of the movie, there is difficult long take where the camera moves around the characters as the story plays out. It is well done.
Murder Made Easy is one of those movie that builds up for the final twist at the end. It does give some subtle hints here and there, but I really didn’t see the ending coming. It was total surprise. The movie does have slow start, but the clever and witty dialogs keep you entertained until the surprise twist at the end.
The acting is pretty decent. Michael played by Christopher Sorene Kelly and Joan played by Jessica Graham make great crime partners and does a great job. Rest of the casts are pretty decent and does their jobs. Although character name Cricket played by Emilia Richeson has very annoying personality, but you get used to her very quickly.
