The story picks up when one of her young child patient ran away to her home.  She decided to take care of him but soon he disappeared. It’s the middle of heavy winter storm, so everyone is thinking that he has died.  But Mary started to see this boy late in the night in her home. Now she is trying to figure out if she is looser her mind or if she seeing some kind of ghost.

The Review (Spoiler Free)

Shut In has bit of horror element but this movie is more of suspense thriller.

The movie starts out like any other horror film.  The audience is put in a situation where if Mary is looser her mind, seeing a ghost, or something completely different is going on.

I was happy to see that the movie does have surprise twist in the story, but I wasn’t really impressed with the twist.  I felt like it was bit too far fetched and unrealistic.  But I do give credit to the writer of the movie who is trying something different.

Acting and Directing

Acting is top notch.  Lots of famous actors are in this movie.  Not including Noami Watts, there is Oliver Platt, and Charlie Heaton.

Shut In is directed by Farren Blackburn who is known for directing many popular TV shows such as The InterceptorDaredevilThe Musketeers, and Doctor Who.

In the Nutshell

Shut In is not a bad movie, but it’s not a great movie either.  I give 3 out of 5 stars.
