Final Prayer (The Borderlands) Review (2013)

The Story

The movie is set in small creepy church in remote part of Britain. The priest of the church claimed that there is supernatural occurrence happen in the church. So The Catholic Church sent two investigators to document the supernatural occurrence in the church. But what they discover is more disturbing than they had first imagined.

The Review (Spoiler Free)

I really like this found-footage horror film from Britain. The movie starts slow. It spends most of the time developing characters of these two investigates and the priest.  The character dynamic between Gray and Deacon is especially interesting and entertaining. There is bit of comical element to it too.

There are no jump scares but the whole atmosphere is really creepy. It has bit of paranormal activity feel to it because we are watching it from the security cameras that these investigators installed in the church.

The movie is slow burner but it is worth waiting for final 30 minuets of the movie where there are lots of supernatural activities, and a big surprise ending.

Acting and Directing

Acting is pretty descent.  The casts include Gordon Kennedy, Robin Hill, and Aidan McArdle.

The Final Prayer is written and directed by Elliot Goldner who is known for directing TV series Paranormal Witness.

In the Nutshell

There are many found-footage horror films out there. The Final Prayer stand out from the rest and it is wroth watching.  I give 4 out of 5 stars.
