“Eloise” (2017) emerges as a psychological thriller that delves into the harrowing confines of an abandoned insane asylum. The film, directed by Robert Legato, attempts to weave a narrative around four friends who venture into the dilapidated Eloise in search of a death certificate that promises a substantial inheritance for Jacob, one of the protagonists. The setting of Eloise, with its dark history and eerie atmosphere, is ripe for a gripping horror tale. However, the movie struggles to fully capitalize on its potential.
