Hell House LLC (2015)

Hell House LLC is very scary and very well done mockumentary (fake documentary) found-footage horror film. Five years after an unexplained malfunction causes the death of 15 tour-goers and staff on the opening night of a Halloween haunted house called Hell House, a documentary film crew visits the scene of the tragedy to investigate what really happened that night.

 

 

The Devils Pass (2013)

The Devil’s Pass is very entertaining found footage horror film that most people have missed.  It has mind blowing ending that I recommend highly. The Devil’s Pass follows a group of American students who are investigating the true life mystery of nine Russian hikers who befell unexplained deaths while hiking in the Russian mountains in 1959. But what they discovered was something very terrifying.

 

The Taking of Deborah Logan (2014)

The Taking of Deborah Logan is surprisingly good found-footage horror that I recommend highly. A group of medical students decided to shoot documentary about Alzheimer disease by studying Deborah Logan who is suffering from early stage of Alzheimer disease.  But they discovered that there are darker side about Deborah that they didn’t expect.

 

 

It Follows (2015)

It Follows is very original horror film that I highly recommand.  The story is about a teen named Jay.  After a seemingly innocent sexual encounter, she finds herself haunted by someone constantly following her.  So she turned to her sister and her close friends for help.

 

 

Timecrimes (2007)

Timecrimes is well made time travel thriller that most people missed.

The story is very simple.  The main character, Hector is ordinary man who accidentally stumbled into experimental time machine and went back to few hour to the past.  Now he is face fix all the mess he made but things doesn’t seems to turn out right.

 

The House of End of Times (2013)

The House at the End of Time (aka La casa del fin de los tiempos) is haunted house with a big twist that will blow your mind.

The story is about a mother with two boys named Dulce. She found herself with a knife and dead husband and she was sentenced to 30 years for murder.  30 years later, she was able to returned to her home, but she started to experience terrifying encounters with mysterious apparitions inside her old house.

 

Triangle (2009)

Triangle will blow your mind, and it makes you think about for a while after.  I give 5 out of 5 stars. The story revolves around the main character named Jess.  She is struggling single mom with a son with Autism. The story begins when she went sailing with group of her friend.  During the sailing, she cannot shake the feeling that there is something wrong.  Soon the yacht caught in a storm and sank. The group is forced to board a passing ocean liner to get to safety.  Soon the group discovered that the boat is very unusual boast and they find themselves struggling to survive.

 

Split (2017)

Split is latest M. Night’s horror film about split personality. Unlike style of horror film, this film doesn’t have mind blowing ending but it is still very good movie. If you are a fan of horror and M. Night, this movie is for you.  I give 5 out of 5 stars.

 

 

 

The Blackcoat’s Daughter (2015)

The Blackcoat’s Daughter follows three girls, Kat, Rose, and Joan.  Rose and Kat are students at some kind of boarding school.  The story begins when the school is on long winter break and Rose and Kat ended up staying over the break at school for different reasons.  There they are faced with a mysterious evil force.  Then there is Joan who is a mysterious girl who wondered into the boarding school.

I know slow burner horror is not as popular.  But the movie is far from boring.  I highly recommend this movie. 

 

Don’t Hang Up Review (2017)

Don’t hangup is surprisingly good movie that you should definitely check out. I highly recommend this movie.

Don’t Hangup is about two online pranker.  Sam and Brady are two young pranker who does extreme prank.  One day they messed with a wrong guy and he started to terrorize them.

 

 

Pet (2016)

Pet, staring Dominic Monaghan, didn’t do that well in the box office.  In fact, I didn’t hear about it until it came out on DVD. But this is surprisingly good movie. I really enjoyed this movie and I highly recommend this movie.

 

 

 

The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016)

The Autopsy of Jane Doe is one of rare original horror that I really love. It is bit different then all other horrors that is out there.  I highly recommend this horror movie.

 

 

 

Don’t Breathe (2016)

Don’t breathe is fun roller-coaster ride. When you think the ride is over, it keep going. I really like that. This isn’t really a horror movie, but I highly recommend this movie.

 

 

 

Last Shift (2015)

Last Shift is a hidden gem you should all see. This low budget film is excellent and it will scare the crap out of you. I recommend this movie and you can find this movie in Netflix.

 

 

 

Green Room (2016)

Green Room isn’t really a horror film. It is more of suspense thriller. But very good one indeed.

The story goes like this. This struggling punk band gets a gig at this shady redneck neo-nazi bar. Something goes wrong and the whole movie is about them trying to survive the night from crazy bar owner played by Patrick Stewart and his gang of neo-Nazi thugs

 

Hush (2016)

Hush is a great little thriller that will keep you in the edge of your seat throughout the entire movie. Hush is a home-invasion-suspense-thriller that you can find in Netflix.  Don’t miss out on this Netflix hidden gem if you haven’t done so.

 

 

 

The Witch (2016)

The movie is not a typical horror movie. It is more of New England folk tale about witches and witchcraft. You have to really pay attention because they do speak in old English dialog.

 

 

 

The Boy (2016)

I really like this movie. I really like how they setup the film. It has all the elements you need for creepy story–the big old creepy house, very mysterious old couple, and the creepy doll. It is must see.

 

 

 

The Invitation (2016)

The story is about the main character named Will who was invited to his ex-wife’s dinner party. The movie reveals some back story behind Will and his ex-wife.  The relationship didn’t work out because of tragic lost of their son.  The dinner invitation is gather of all the old friends by ex-wife Eden to celebrate new found life she had with her new husband. But the real reason behind the party is not what you expecting. I highly recommend The Invitation. It’s must see movie.

 

Hidden (2015)

Hidden is post-apocalyptic movie about a family who is trying to survive in the bunker. I highly recommend this movie.

 

 

 

Creep (2015)

Creep is another found-footage film but it’s not about ghost, monsters, or demons. It is about some creepy guy. I really liked this movie. If you are fan of found-footage film, this is must see!

 

 

 

The Visit (2015)

I don’t know why so many people don’t like M. Night. Maybe because of high expectation from first blockbuster hit “Sixth Senses”. As for me, I am a big fan of M. Night. I know not every movie is good but I enjoy most of his movies. And this movie, I really love!
